CHOICE OF THE CLAWED NAIL
To choose the correct nail had to hold in consideration two important factors.
1 - THE TYPE OF TIRE.
You dissuades to use pneumatic with mixes very soft, for instance competition rubbers, (those that crumble him) above all from wet, the mixes in contact with the ice or the water can loose it softens therefore it loses the nails.
2 - WHERE IT IS WANTED TO USE IT
The protrusion of the nail is a result given by tyre, and by the use of the nail (competitions,
off-road, road). We recommend to use nails, not too protruding in the areas governed by
the Road Code , while in the private zones, can be used nails with a superior bulging.
In either case, always use all the available rubber tyre to put the nail longer, so can work
better. Chose the tyre, measure the depth of the tread or the wedge, after which it
becomes a simple calculation as described here. In tyres for road use, you can add 1 or 2
mm to the easurement, while into the anti-snow tyres you can add 2 or 3 mm
Example:
It measures pneumatic road auto = 5,5mm
I add 2 millimetres
A total results of 7, 5 mm .
I can climb on then a nail from 7,5mm road use
ASSEMBLAGE OF THE CLAWED NAIL
1. Place the head of the nail in the headquarters of the key provided.
2. Place the propeller of the nail on the surface of the tyre or shoes
3. Put force pushing in a longitudinal way, then screw using a simple driver (rotating it
very slowly) or with a manual tool
4. Tighten only until the head of the key touches the surface of theTyre.
5. Check the nails every 1000 km and if necessary screw them.
6. Use the key OFF /OFF 1 to remove the nails. Also for those damaged.
IMPORTANT: Do not continue to tighten, because otherwise continuous rotations of the threaded part tears, rip and wipe out the rubber, seat of the nail. The nail will be place
wrong, not work properly, will bend and intend to escape.
DISPOSITION OF THE NAILS ON THE TYRES
1) prepare in equidistant and in constant way the nails on the circumference of the tyre
2) don't prepare never the nails in single file, but in irregular and orderly way with a logic that must be followed on the whole circumference of the tyre
3) if the tyre is used also in roads without snow it is better putting only the nails along the sides on the front tyres
